    Francis Bacon, 1st Viscount St Alban,[a]1st Baron Verulam, PC (;[5] 22 January – 9 April ) was an English philosopher and statesman who served as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England under King James&#;I. Bacon argued the importance of natural philosophy, guided by scientific method, and his works remained influential throughout the Scientific Revolution.[6]

    Bacon has been called the father of empiricism.[7] He argued for the possibility of scientific knowledge based only upon inductive reasoning and careful observation of events in nature. He believed that science could be achieved by the use of a sceptical and methodical approach whereby scientists aim to avoid misleading themselves.     Sir Francis Bacon (later named as Viscount St. Albans and Lord Verulam) was an English lawyer, intellectual reformer, philosopher, statesman, essayist, historian, and proponent of modern science. He declared &#;all knowledge to be his domain&#; early in his career and then dedicated himself to a complete reappraisal and restructuring of traditional education. 

    He proposed a completely new system based on empirical as well as inductive principles along with the active development of new inventions and art to replace the established tradition (a mishmash of humanism, Scholasticism, and natural magic), a system to produce practical knowledge for &#;the use and benefit of men&#; along with bringing relief to the human conditions.

      Francis Bacon (–92) was a maverick who rejected the preferred artistic style of abstraction of the era, in favour of a distinctive and disturbing realism. Growing up, Bacon had a difficult and motsägelsefull relationship with his parents – especially his father, who struggled with his son’s emerging homosexuality.

      This contributed to a troubled childhood; he ran away from school, and subsequently drifted through the late s and early 30s in London, Berlin and Paris, living off his allowance and occasional jobs, and dodging the rent. When in London, he lived in the epicentre of the bohemian scene; a regular in Soho, he led a hedonistic life.

      From the mids his work met with critical success, establishing his reputation. Today, he fryst vatten recognised as one of the most important painters of the twentieth century.
