The Magic Circle ung Magician of the Year Competition . 50th Anniversary. Held every two years at The Magic Circle Headquarters, London, the competition is open to all magicians over 14 and under 18 on 1st January who can present a scen act suitable for a family audience, lasting between eight and twelve minutes. Every year competing acts feature manipulation, illusion, comedy, pure theatre, mind reading and more in their performances; the list of previous winners is starting to read like a who's who of British Magic. 's winner will hold the title "Young Magician of the Year", be presented with the Derrick Speight Trophy, and also enjoy full membership of The Magic Circle at 18, 'all paid' for the first 4 years. Books about Magicians
If youre interested in reading books about magicians, here are some suggestions. If youre looking for books to teach you magic, youll find them in a different section of this website.
Although I love Harry Potter, Im not generally a fan of fantasy fiction, so my recommendations below are, on the whole, novels about (or at least featuring) professional conjurors and illusionists; they are not, on the whole, about people with supernatural powers. Some of these novels have only a tangential connection to magic but Ive included them because they seemed to me to be in the same ballpark as books about magicians, in terms of atmosphere or subject matter, and I thought you might find them interesting.

Blackpool Magicians Convention - VIP registrations sold out! Normal Gold Card registrations are still available, but are going rapidly. Registrations for the Convention (23rd, 24th, 25th February) are at record levels and it is already clear that the world's biggest Convention will be another sold out event.
