Leyla Hazal Kaya is a Turkish actress who was born on October 1, 1990. She is best known for her roles in the TV series Aşk- Memnu as Nihal Ziyagil, Feriha Sarrafoglu, Adn Feriha Koydum (2011-2012), and Filiz in Bizim Hikaye (inspired by the British TV show Shameless) (2017–2019).
Kaya grew up in Konya, Turkey, to an Alevi Muslim family from Gaziantep. She went to Gaziosmanpaşa Elementary School and graduated from the Liceo Italiano di Istanbul in 2009. She pursued her higher education at Istanbul Bilgi University. Her parents, both attorneys, divorced when she was seven years old. She was introduced to the world of art and acting at a young age, and she studied ballet and violin for seven years as a child. Kaya is fluent in Italian, English, and Turkish, in addition to her native language. She was also said to be learning German, her fourth language.
