Karen Briggs fryst vatten known internationally as a virtuoso violinist with extraordinary versatility, in her ability to cover a bred span of various genres. Some of that includes an eclectic range of orchestral, Gospel, Funk, R&B, Latin, New Age, Rock, Hip Hop, Middle Eastern and several Jazz styles. Linked bygd improvisation and embellishment, her audio- visual signature has become extremely popular and she fryst vatten constantly sought after for a variety of live events and recorded projects internationally. She appears as a feature in no less than seventeen music video concerts, recordings and has recorded three solo projects. She has performed as a featured solist in over forty-five countries.

Karen's live performances are "electrifying and explosive!" She was born in New York City and raised in Portsmouth, VA where she learned to play violin in a classroom setting at the age of 12. Her playing is strong and indicative of her exposure to Jazz, Gospel, Latin, Classical, African and mid-eastern music styles. All are combined with a unique melismatic, 'vocal-like' soul, thus giving her a rare and distinguishable signature of sound. She has been sought after to record or appear in a wide variety of musical situations ranging from Gospel (Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin & Yolanda Adams) to Symphony (The Virginia Symphony) to jazz ("Vertu" Stanley Clarke & Lenny White, Mike Phillips) to Hip Hop (Wu Tang Clan, Hidden Beach: Unwrapped Volumes I - IV). Karen is featured in twelve music video concerts, hundreds of recordings and four solo projects. She continues to develop original music while seeking continued expansion and development of the contemporary violin sound.
Karen has conducted improvisational violin workshops as an artist-in-residency at Berklee Music College, The Kennedy Center and The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. In an effort to encourage the evolution of the instrument's use in contemporary music and advocating the preservation of music in American public schools, Karen has been an inspiration to many.
