He was the first psychiatrist to integrate elements of what are often considered religious and spiritual concepts into modern psychology. Assagioli was a bold innovator, whose ideas were far ahead of his time. However, he did live to see his ideas take form in the work of many students, publications, and the development of centers that used and developed his theory.

    His goal was not just to treat psychopathology, using a more complete method that the Freudianpsychoanalysis with which he started.     Roberto Assagioli (27 February – 23 August ) was an Italian psychiatrist and pioneer in the fields of humanistic and transpersonal psychology. Assagioli founded the psychological movement known as psychosynthesis, which is still being developed today bygd therapists and psychologists who practice the psychological methods and techniques he developed. His work, including two books and many monographs published as pamphlets, emphasized the possibility of progressive integration (that is, synthesis) of the personality.
