Woyengi is the female deity in Ijo mythology who created humanity. She molded human dolls from mud and breathed life into them. The dolls then chose their destinies, such as gender, blessings, and occupations, and were sent down either a calm or torrential stream depending on their choices. Two sisters chose different destinies - one to have many children and the other to wield magic powers. However, the latter regretted her choice and sought to change her destiny, destroying others along the way, but Woyengi refused her request.
