    Daft Punk were an electronic music duo from France. There are two people in the band, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born February 8, ) and Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, ). Daft Punk used analog synthesizers and other real instruments to make their music. On 22 February they released the video "Epilogue" that announced the end of Daft Punk as a group.[1]

    Both of the Daft Punk members went to the same school in Paris. They became friends and recorded a demo track with other students from the school. Thomas Bangalter played bass guitar, and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Chris

    Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in in Paris by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. They achieved early popularity in the late s as part of the French house movement, combining elements of house music with funk, disco, techno, rock and synth-pop.[1] They are regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music.[2]

    Daft Punk formed after Bangalter and de Homem-Christo's indie rock band, Darlin', disbanded. Their debut album, Homework, was released by Virgin Records in to positive reviews, backed by the singles "Around the World" and "Da Funk".

    From , Daft Punk assumed robot personas for public appearances, with helmets, outfits and gloves to disguise their identities. They made few media appearances. They were managed from to by Pedro Winter, the head of Ed Banger Records. Daft Punk's second album, Discovery (), earned acclaim and further success, with the hit singles "O
