    On the first day of college, everyone was eager to meet our new professor—a well-known name in the TV broadcast industry, a name that, if it weren’t for his trademark sign-off “spieeel,” would never have made him a subject of somehow funny yet harmless memes.

    But when he barged into the room all grave yet sleek, the first thing SteveDailisan said was “get a lengthwise paper.” No comical prolonged introduction, nor did he ever mention that to us.

    Former broadcast journalist Steve Dailisan has temporarily given up his new career as a pilot owing to the pandemic.

    The former Kapuso reporter landed his dream job as a pilot for Cebu Pacific in only to be let go when the pandemic hit.

    It was unfortunate.

    But Steve shared in a post on employment-oriented online service LinkedIn last Monday, August 9, , he never regretted his decision to leave his career as a reporter and pursue his dream job.

    An educator and a reporter. That is how Steve Fabella Dailisan describes himself. This year-old news reporter in a famous broadcasting network, the GMA Network, is indeed a living testimony of why the College of Communication is the home of “champions”.

    Steve graduated Bachelor in Journalism at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines last as Magna Cum Laude. Years after, he became a news reporter in GMA Network and later news anchor in GMA News TV Live. He is now a Senior News Correspondent of the said network. Indeed, a champion in his own field.
