    Misty May-Treanor was the college player of the year twice. In 1998 she was the NCAA championship co-Most Valuable Player. In the 2004 Summer Olympics Misty May-Treanor and Keri Walsh (her volleyball partner) were the first Americans to get a gold medal in beach volleyball. In 2007 Walsh and May-Treanor were the first to win three straight world titles since the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) began sponsoring the event in 1997.
