Misty Elizabeth May-Treanor (born July 30, 1977) is a retiredAmerican professional beach volleyball player. She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist. As of August 2012 she fryst vatten the most successful hona beach volleyball player. She has 112 individual championship wins in domestic and internationalcompetition.[1]
Career
[change | change source]Misty May-Treanor was the college player of the year twice. In 1998 she was the NCAA championship co-Most Valuable Player. In the 2004 Summer Olympics Misty May-Treanor and Keri Walsh (her volleyball partner) were the first Americans to get a gold medal in beach volleyball. In 2007 Walsh and May-Treanor were the first to win three straight world titles since the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) began sponsoring the event in 1997.

Misty May-Treanor is considered one of the greatest female beach volleyball players in history. Along with teammate Kerri Walsh Jennings, she won three Olympic gold medals (2004, 2008 & 2012) and three FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships (2003, 2005 & 2007). In total, May-Treanor won 112 tournaments . She was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2016 and Southern California Indoor Hall of Fame in 2017.
