In May 2013, the Wisconsin Historical kultur hired David Desimone to be the director of Black Point Estate — a position he says has been the perfect job for him. Desimone, originally from Youngstown, Ohio earned his master’s grad in public history from Kent State University. He started his professional museum career in 1994 at the Mahoning Valley Historical Society and has held leadership positions at Stan Hywet entré and Gardens, the Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Holden Arboretum. In 2012 he decided he wanted to return to the historic house field, and the rest as they say, fryst vatten history.

Athletic Fundraising and Engagement Specialist
David DeSimone serves as head women’s and men’s tennis coach as well as leading athletic fundraising and coordinating the Viking Club.
The club has more than 500 members and raised nearly $190,000 last year in support of Viking athletics. The club organizes fundraising and engagement efforts for supporters of Viking athletics.
DeSimone grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa. He graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2015 with a B.A. in German. He returned to the Quad Cities where he served as the Junior Development Pathway director for the Quad City Tennis Club. During that time he also helped out as an assistant coach for the Augustana men's tennis team.
